Our professional guide/s will collect you from your hotel or the Cradle Mountain National Park visitor centre. Tour pickups will start at 11.00am. The tour duration is for 2 hours from pick up time
Once we have all guests on board we will head into the National Park, along the way our guides will give an interesting commentary about the park and a rundown of the tour proceedings.
Upon arriving at Dove Lake there will be chance to capture the great views of the lake and across it to Cradle Mountain, please remember that at times the Mountain will be shrouded in cloud but this still offers incredible scenery of the lake.
After the awe of viewing the area we take a short drive to Waldheim chalet, the first accommodation in the area and home to Gustav and Kate Weindorfer. The original chalet was built by them in 1912 but what stands today is a full replica built in the 1970’s by similar techniques using local King Billy pine.
After we visit the chalet we enjoy Weindorfer forest walk, a short walk of 30min through cool climate rainforest, our guides will let you know about all the different trees and plants and if you’re lucky enough you can see some of the animals that may pop their heads up to say hello. Back in the bus we have samples of the different unique timbers that are used for building and timber workers for you to feel and touch.
We travel out of the Waldheim area to the Interpretive Centre and Ranger Station where you can view the many photos and read interesting articles of the region.
From the Interpretive Centre we head out onto the Pencil Pine Falls Loop Track. walking amongst giant Myrtle and Pencil Pine trees en-route to Pencil Pine falls.
Finally after this interactive and interesting tour, it all concludes at your hotel or other drop off point
