Once our professional guide will collect all guests from their hotels and the tour will begin with a short drive to Dove Lake. On the way the guide will share interesting information on what can be expected on the tour given current weather and timings.
Upon arrival at Dove Lake you will have a nice warm cup of tea or coffee, a camp chair and warm blanket as the guide runs through a short presentation so you can begin to really understand the wonders of the night sky.
Using binoculars you can start to explore the night sky and reference particular star viewings to charts supplied. You can try to make out the 3 brightest stars Sirius, Canopus and Alpha centuri or constellations Scorpius, Sagittarius or the southern cross.
If the timing is right there is a chance to see the Aurora Australis, Tasmania is one of the best places to see the southern lights and to see it in the Cradle region is absolutely spectacular.
Once we are all starred out we conclude the tour with a drive back out of the park and drop off at your hotel.
