We collect you early from 6.45am at either of the the 3 locations at Launceston Transit centre, Colonial Motor Inn or Launceston Backpackers, so we can make the most of the day at Cradle. We aim to be there at 9am. You will meet straight up with our canyoning guides and get ready for an action packed day.
Dove Canyon is Tassie adventure at its best. We walk through pristine rain forest to this stunning canyon. After abseiling in, we spend the day walking and floating through the canyon and doing what we have to do to navigate the obstacles we find along the way. The main obstacles are six waterfalls which we abseil, jump or slide off!
One of the highlights is the Laundry Chute - a ten metre high natural slide that shoots you out of a large cave (which we call The Pit) into a big open pool. Very unique and highly exhilarating.
This is a committing trip - once you're in, there's only one way out and there is no way to walk around any of the waterfalls. Having said that, most of our clients have no canyoning experience, and it doesn't require any particular skills as such - just an ability to swim and a sense of adventure.
You do need a descent level of fitness. The hardest part of the day physically is the hike out of the canyon. It is 20 minutes, up a steep hill, in a wetsuit, to get back to where our dry clothes are waiting for us.
Along the way today we stop for a well earned bite to eat at lunch and then at the end of the day, tired and weary from such an action packed day we head back to Launceston to arrive at around 7.30pm
When it comes to professionalism,... When it comes to professionalism, guest care and quality of vehicles, it would be hard to beat McDermott's anywhere in Australia. They were the official ground transporter for the 2018 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, bringing guests from multiple locations to the site of the event on time and in comfort. For any conference organiser managing an event in Tasmania or abroad, make sure you consider McDermott's. Superb.
McDermott’s Coaches are a shining example of the way Tasmania’s tourism industry should operate. They understand their product, their industry and their customers and consistently deliver the highest level of service.
I just wanted to send an email to compliment your company for a wonderfultour and a great driver. He was an excellent driver his knowledge of Tasmaniaand every place we went to was outstanding. The way he treated the more elderly was lovely. He mixed well with everyone and his driving on the more difficult roads was exceptional. I would without a doubt recommend your company.
Your drivers, were absolutely phenomenal again. They were always more than accommodating and helped us out when the situation meant we had to be flexible and change our plans. We would love to have the same drivers again!
Enjoy a combination of glorious Whitsundays and Central Qld outback explorations, starting in Airlie Beach and a sail to Whitehaven beach. Marvel at the white sands and the blue turquoise waters while sitting on deck. Some may not visit Townsville like we do, our local guide takes us on a comprehensive tour of Townsville and surrounds. Leaving the coast we head west to search for dinosaur fossils before settling into Longreach and having an outback spectacular with the Kinnon Family like no other. Wagon riding, campfire cooking, farm touring, it is all action packed here…..we finish the tour with an overnight, sit back and relax train ride through to Brisbane before returning home to Tassie.
