Devils Gullet - Great Western Tiers

Overview

Stand­ing atop the dra­mat­ic cliffs of Dev­ils Gul­lett and look­ing over Tasmania’s remote alpine Cen­tral Plateau, you can see the entire Cra­dle Moun­tain-Lake St Clair World Her­itage Area. Tasmania’s high­est point Mt Ossa, the Fish­er and Mersey riv­er val­leys, Walls of Jerusalem and sev­er­al oth­er major peaks and val­leys.

Devil’s Gul­lett includes a short and easy 20-minute (return) board­walk walk from the car park to a look­out over­hang­ing this stun­ning gorge.

Vis­it Lake Macken­zie, a dam that is part of Tas­ma­ni­a’s hydro elec­tric scheme where water from Lake flows via canals, tun­nels and pipes to the Fish­er Pow­er Station.
