Cradle Mountain Public Visitor Transport

Access to Cradle Mountain National Park and Dove Lake is by the National Park Shuttle Bus.

The Cradle Discoverer operated by McDermott’s Coaches consists of a fleet of purpose-built hybrid diesel-electric, low floor, wheelchair accessible buses.

This is a world-first for hybrid coach technology on a tourism platform, delivering environmentally sensitive and sustainable transport.

Tour Group Transfers

McDermott’s offer an exclusive fully guided tour for individual groups which includes a comprehensive commentary and a pick up and drop off at all Cradle Mt locations. We also offer private one way and return transfers for groups.

This sustainable mode of transport is a first to be introduced in any National Park in Australia. The hybrid buses travel predominately in silent mode and all buses have been fitted with large windows to ensure maximum viewing on the journey into one of Tasmania’s most iconic National Parks.

The Shuttle Bus Service was introduced to protect the important values of the World Heritage Area by limiting vehicle numbers in the park.
