We accept payment for all tours via Cash, Cheque, EFTPOS, Credit Card or Bank Transfer
Payments can be made at the time of booking or up to the day of departure.
Multi-Day Tours — Local/Interstate/Overseas
A deposit is required at time of booking to secure a place on the tour. Please refer to confirmation letter for payment deadlines that may apply, as all tours will vary depending on third party providers.
3. Booking Changes & Travel Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you have Travel Insurance for all multi-day tours to cover you against illness or accident, cancellation fees, loss of luggage, etc. or the unfortunate event that you must cancel your booking.
Any changes to your booking once the deposit has been received may incur amendment fees.
The reservations we make on your behalf or groups behalf are subject to cancellation fees from all Suppliers, making it necessary to enforce strict cancellation policies. If you cancel a reservation prior to the departure of your tour, cancellation fees will apply
Day Tours: When cancelled outside 24 hours, funds may be transferred to another tour, held in credit, or fully refunded subject to any third-party fees that may apply.
Multi Day Tours — Local / Interstate / Overseas
Outside 30 Days — McDermotts will provide full refund where possible.
If the booking is cancelled and there has been no cancellation fees or credits retained by suppliers, passengers will receive a full refund. In the event the supplier has been paid and they are not offering a refund, we will refund in full minus the outlaid funds only.
Within 30 Days – passengers will forfeit deposit and other third-party fees that may apply.
Cancellations by McDermott’s Travel Club
All tours are required to meet a minimum amount of paying passengers for the tour to operate.
Where a tour does not meet minimum numbers McDermotts Coaches reserve the right to cancel the tour and return all payments without penalty.
5. Health, Fitness Requirements and Medical Disclosure
You must be in good health to participate on Travel Club Tours, especially extended tours.
You must also let us know if there are any underlying health issues that may impact on your participation and enjoyment of the tour and you may be asked to provide medical evidence to support your claim.
Please note failure to declare medical issues can impact on your travel insurance, third party operators, other passengers, and McDermotts Travel Club.
6. Route changes, Postponement, Cancellation or Delay Inclement Weather Action
McDermotts reserves the right to change routes, time, date, cancel or delay the departure where it may be deemed unsafe or not possible to conduct the tour.
The inclusions listed in the tour itinerary information are included in the tour price.
Exclusions may include some meals if not listed on the itinerary, optional attractions fees and those things of a personal nature.
8. Indemnity/Limitation of Liability
McDermotts Coaches has no liability for any act, omission, or default, whether negligent or otherwise of any destination or third party.
McDermotts Coaches will not be liable for loss or damages arising out of the delay in departure or delay of services.
9. COVID-19 Travel Disclaimer
McDermotts Coaches are a COVID Ready accredited tourism business and hold the necessary accreditation that identifies the business as part of Australia’s trusted Tourism Trade Checklist and represents business trade compliance.
McDermotts have developed a Covid-19 Safety Plan under the guidelines of Worksafe Tasmania and to this extent, McDermotts will be following the Tasmanian Government Public Health Direction in relation to regulations surrounding commercial transport travel. Copies of our Worksafe Plan can be seen on request and all tour passengers will be advised with regards the details of the Covid-19 Safety Plan upon commencement of each tour.
We ask that you do not travel if you are unwell or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have had close contract or helped care for any person with COVID-19, have recently arrived from overseas or have been asked to quarantine in the past 14 days. You will be asked to sign a Passenger Health Questionnaire on the tour departure day to confirm these details.
We ask that by accepting our terms and conditions when booking, you acknowledge and agree that McDermotts Coaches have developed a suitable workplace safety plan around Covid-19 and therefore will do everything possible to mitigate any risk, and that you agree that McDermotts Coaches will not be liable for the unintentional exposure or harm due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
10. Promotional Material
McDermott’s Travel Club representatives may take photographs of you while you are on tour and those images may be used in our advertising material.
McDermott’s will, however, obtain special permission if the image is not a group photo and ask for your consent to use the photo for any promotional purposes.
