After our door to door pick up and transfers, we begin our tour with a visit to The National Rose Gardens at Woolmers Estate, located in Tasmania, Australia. This estate is a renowned destination for rose enthusiasts and visitors alike. Situated on the historic Woolmers Estate, which dates to the 19th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the rose gardens feature a stunning array of rose varieties displayed in beautifully landscaped surroundings. The gardens are meticulously designed to showcase the impressive collection of roses, including heritage varieties and modern cultivars. After lunch at the Richmond Arms Hotel in Richmond, we visit the first of our private gardens, belonging to Gaylene and Laurie Clark, and situated in Bagdad.
Later in the afternoon we continue on our way to Hobart and arrive at our hotel for an evening of laughter, friendship and chat over our evening meal.
After breakfast we head out for our day amongst the trees and flowers! Today we visit the home of Penny & Pav Wells, Crawleighwood Garden along Nicholls Rivulet for a guided tour and morning tea before an opportunity to explore the streets of Cygnet. There you have time for lunch at your own arrangement at any of the wonderful eating establishments located centrally within the village and enjoy free time to explore the many arts &craft shops and unique boutiques on display. Suggested cafes: Red Velvet Lounge, Post Hole Café, Jackies Café, Conservatory Café.
After lunch we head towards the town of Margate for an opportunity to visit Inverawe Native Gardens, the home of Bill & Margaret Chestnut and a stunning natural attraction designed to showcase the beauty of Australia’s native flora. Set on a picturesque property, the gardens span around 10 acres and include a diverse array of native plants, carefully curated landscapes, and walking paths that meander through the rich vegetation.
From there, we have one more garden to visit this day with the inclusion of AviFauna & Flora Garden, also in Margate. The home of Winne & Albert Verdouw, and created with over 30 years of love and hard work, this beautiful garden is designed to provide habitat for a variety of bird species while showcasing the diverse flora of the region.
After our exciting day we head back towards our hotel for our evening meal and to reflect on all the wonderful things we have seen and learned over the day.
Today we have planned a visit to Epsom House, where we have organized Morning tea and a House & Garden tour. Originally built as a family residence, Epsom House has served various purposes over the years, including as a boarding house and a private home. The beautiful gardens surrounding the house enhance its charm, providing a tranquil outdoor space that complements the grandeur of the building. We find time for an own expense lunch at the Claremont Hotel before continuing on to Apple Blossom Farm, the home of Janette and Jason Good, located in Collinsvale. This family-owned farm specializes in producing a variety of apples and other fruits. Visitors often enjoy exploring the scenic environment, which features beautiful orchards and views of the surrounding countryside. Then it’s back to our hotel for an evening meal and debrief of the day's findings!
We wake to find our final exciting day ahead, commencing with breakfast and check out of our hotel to be on our way to the Salmon Ponds. Overall, the Salmon Ponds in New Norfolk is a fascinating blend of history, education, and natural beauty, attracting visitors interested in fish, nature, and the heritage of Australian aquaculture.
before taking advantage of our surrounds and enjoying our last day with a day pass to AutumnFest 2025. AutumnFest in New Norfolk, Tasmania, is a seasonal celebration that typically occurs in April to welcome the autumn season. The festival showcases the vibrant fall colors and the local community's rich agricultural heritage. It features a variety of activities and attractions for attendees of all ages. The group will have free time here to explore the festival and enjoy lunch via own arrangement before reconvening to board our coach and finally head home towards Launceston.
