Surrounded by beautiful beaches, eucalyptus forests and coastal reserves, Triabunna (an aboriginal word meaning native hen) is protected deep in Spring Bay on the East Coast.
Our driver/guide will share their knowledge, stories and insight into the rich history this area is known for. Each day we will explore and experience a different part of the township and surrounding areas including – historic buildings, coastal scenery, beaches, local trades, bushland gardens and fresh local produce.

You will be collected from your home, transferred to the meeting location. We will then head down to historic Campbell Town to enjoy a fresh morning tea in the park. As we travel down towards Swansea township you can enjoy the scenic views that are on offer. We pick up our on-board guest, Graeme Elphinstone, to help us provide better context to the
impact of the logging industry throughout the area. Through Graeme Elphinstone's innovations and the family's ongoing involvement in manufacturing, the Elphinstone name has become synonymous with quality equipment in the logging industry. Their products are widely used in the transport and handling of timber, making the process more efficient and
safer. Our time with Graeme will help us better understand the unique environmental, historical, and economic characteristics of Tasmania’s logging industry.
Next, we lunch at The Tasman Sea Salt company, a place unique not only for its high-quality product but also for its deep commitment to sustainability, ethical production, and the preservation of Tasmania’s natural environment. These values, combined with a focus on craftsmanship and local community support, make it a standout in the artisanal salt
industry.
After lunch we then arrive at our accommodation at the East Coaster Motel in Orford to settle in and enjoy a delicious
meal whilst overlooking the magnificent Spring Bay waterfront.

We travel north back up the coast to visit Elphinstone Engineering for a tour before heading to lunch at the Spring Bay Mill along with a tour of this historic site. In the 1970s, the Triabunna Wood Chip Mill stood as the world’s largest. Spring Bay Mill, has undergone significant changes over the years, transforming from a woodchip mill into a unique, environmentally conscious venue that emphasizes sustainability and community engagement.
Wrapping up the afternoon we will stop at the Triabunna Visitor Information Centre which overlooks the TasmanianSeafarers’ Memorial Wall, marina and local fishing fleet. The Centre features a collection of tapestry wall hangings made by residents in the local area. Here, you can also see historic ruins, sweeping bays, rugged cliffs and mountains, and
diverse wildlife. We then travel back to settle into the hotel for dinner and rest

This morning, we travel the scenic route towards Buckland. During our time in Buckland, we will enjoy a guide tour of the St John Baptist Church that was built by the convicts in 1846 and learn the truth about its connection to the Battle of Hastings. From here we will travel to experience the charm of the Ye Old Buckland Inn. Offering a rich history that is
dated back to the 1800’s and is listed as one of the top five oldest pubs in Tasmania. It is here we will have lunch.
Our final stop will be a visit to the Tasmanian Bushland Gardens; a botanical garden and nature reserve for you to meander through gardens featuring the native plants of the East Coast before heading home to Launceston
