Set foot on Flinders Island and step into an awe-inspiring world of sparkling beaches, rugged ranges, abundant wildlife, flora, and clear sapphire waters. Our local guide will share their knowledge, stories, and insight of the ‘island life’. Each day we will explore a new area and experience a different part of the Island – historic buildings and ruins, coastal scenery, beaches, wildlife reserves, farming regions, Indigenous history, gardens, and fresh produce.
Accommodation will be at Lady Baron in the well-appointed units of the Furneaux Tavern, set on an acre of native gardens with spectacular views over Franklin Sound.

Collected from home, transfer to Launceston airport for departure with Sharp Airlines at 10.00am. Meet and greet at Flinders Island airport with driver, travel 10 mins out of town to Walkers lookout where there you can see 360 views of the Island. From there we travel back into Whitemark to the local Bakery Café for those who want to have a cuppa/snack. We head south to Lady Barron to settle into our accommodation at The Furneaux Tavern.

We travel north towards Memana, the largest farming region the Island has to offer. Learning about the soldier settlement scheme in the 1960s. (morning tea break) We then head back south slightly to Patriarchs Wildlife reserve where we learn of the determination of one mans dream to protect the wallabies and Cape Barren geese. This is a beautiful setting for lunch. We then head down to Cameron’s inlet (a breeding ground for the many birdlife we have), this is a chance for those who want to take a stroll on the beach and go fossicking for shells. From there we head north again towards Lady Barron back to The Furneaux Tavern.

This morning we travel the scenic Thule Road as we head to the most northern part of the island. We travel to the North East River for morning tea, a popular fishing spot for the locals in the know, there is time here for a short stroll around the pristine estuary. From here we head to the most northern part of the island, Palana where you can still see the bunkers set up during the war. These were used as a lookout for fear of invasion of enemy armies. We journey to Killekrankie, the home of the famous Killekrankie diamonds. A lovely spot for lunch. From here we travel back towards Lady Barron, taking the route to Vinegar hill where there are panoramic views of the Furneaux islands, and the Frankin Sound. On a good day we can see the ‘Farsund’ shipwreck. From here its back to accommodation.

We check out of our accommodation for a final day of touring before our afternoon flight Heading north again, this time to the historic Wybalena chapel (morning tea) and spend some time in the Flinders Island Museum before heading to one of the most popular beaches on the island, Trousers Point. The area boasts with white sand, crystal clear waters and red lichens on the rocks, as well as stunning views of Mount Strzelecki. This is our spot for lunch. Heading back towards Lady Barron we cruise through Coast Road and Badger Corner before making our way to the airport to return to Launceston to be dropped off at home on our return.
