Grote Reber Museum & Wicked Cheese
Explore the Mt Pleasant Observatory and Grote Reber Museum on the outskirts of Cambridge. With a 26m Diameter radio dish, this collection highlights the life and work of 1950’s Tasmanian radio astronomer Grote Reber and University of Tasmania’s radio astronomy projects.
We take a guided tour of the observatory, the “big dish” and control room.
We enjoy lunch at the nearby Wicked Cheese, family-owned boutique cheese markets who have gone on to win a number of awards. Stop by their factory outlet to sample or purchase the wide variety of cheeses available or other providore products.
Today’s tour will include morning tea from the coach, entry and guide at Grote Reber Museum and lunch.
