Overview

Lake Pedder, in the heart of Tasmania’s wild south-west wilderness, combined with Lake Gordon it is Australia’s largest freshwater storage. These man-made lakes are separated by the Gordon Dam, an impressive structure, at 140m tall. We spend the night at Lake Pedder Wilderness Lodge, an old hydro town chalet restored to cater for visitors looking for a remote escape.

Our 2 Day tour takes in many other sites and attractions along the way, including a guided tour of Shene Estate at Pontville near Hobart, a fascinating historic property with a distillery, tours & more.

We also visit Mount Field National Park, and enjoy the short walk to Russell Falls, one of Tasmania’s most visited and accessible waterfalls. A fantastic and varied two-day tour.
