Short Walks of Cradle Mountain

• Day 1: Cradle Mountain

  Departing from the Visitors Centre or your accommodation, we drive into the Cradle Mountain National Park and start our walk at the Dove Lake.

  Glacier Rock is first stop, where rocks have left us remnants of the movement from a glacier during the last ice age. On the clearest of day to views from here are tremendous….

  Then on to Waldheim Chalet and Weindorfers Forest Walk, and enjoy a walk through the ancient rainforest where you can see King Billy pines, pandini and the deciduous beech or fagus.

  Returning to the Interpretation Centre where we join a few short walks firstly the Pencil Pine Falls and Rainforest Walk then onto the beautiful Enchanted Walk and King Billy Walk.

  Walking the trails to various view points and points of interest where our guide will discuss the plants, flowers and the various flora of the area. We will see pandani, button grass, boronia, waratah and different species of pine trees amongst many other plants and trees.

  Our final short walk is to Knyvet Falls. These falls can be a gentle wash of water which photographs brilliantly or after heavy rains they can be a spectacular raging wall of water.
